Nattopharma proudly announces its sponsorship of the Vitamin K2 Workshop that has been added to the education agenda for this year’s SupplySide West Global Conference & Expo, the largest tradeshow for the dietary supplement, food and pharmaceutical industries in the United States.

According to event organizers, Informa, in their announcement of the session, “Vitamin K2 is the last recognized vitamin in the West with a demonstrated deficiency. Pair this with epidemiological evidence – and now published human interventional supplement studies – showing Vitamin K2 is essential for bone and cardiovascular health at all stages of life.”

The session is entitled “Vitamin K2 Workshop: New Findings & Trends for Heart and Bone Health” will feature the following speakers:

  • Dennis Goodman, MD, cardiologist, director of integrative medicine at New York University, and author of Vitamin K2: The Missing Nutrient for Heart and Bone Health, will address Vitamin K2’s Impact on heart health and how it is being used in integrative medicine.
  • Ted Reid, professor/director of biotechnology, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, will discuss new discoveries in Vitamin K2 function: neurons, muscle health, and energy output.
  • Leon Schurgers, PhD, associate professor of biochemistry at University Maastricht and CARIM (Cardiovascular Research Institute Maastricht). will address Vitamin K2 as being the key vitamin in controlling vascular calcification, via activation of vitamin K-dependent proteins such as matrix Gla protein.
  • Katarzyna Maresz, PhD, president of the International Science and Health

Foundation, will discuss the essential role Vitamin K2 plays in children’s bone health, specifically how children have the greatest need for K vitamins and that statistics indicate that vitamin K consumption is declining in Western societies.
